Located in a scenic overlook park at the highest point on the
Eastern coast, the site of a new 9-11 memorial. There is ample
parking and beautiful views of the NY skyline.
We placed this cache to encourage visitors to this beautiful new
memorial to victims of 9-11. The memorial is a huge eagle with a 9
foot wingspan sculpted in limestone on a base of black granite. The
names of victims from the area are etched in the base. The eagle
clutches a twisted steel beam from the World Trade Center in its
talons. Along the path approaching the memorial are plaques
commemorating the timeline of events as they occured on September
11, 2001. The cache was placed in the wooded area of the park. It
is a screw-top container with a log book, pen, pencil and
sharpener, along with the usual assortment of small toys. Please
take time to visit this beautiful memorial and enjoy the views.
