Geocache Description:

The Screaming Eagles Cub Scout team have set up a night hike geocache search on the Kalousdian land. The first night reflective trail marker is at the posted coordinates.

At the border of Hudson and Stow we discovered a small, spooky conservation parcel named the Kalousdian Land. We decided a normal geocache would not do for this site; a night search cache in order to scare the timid away was necessary. The coordinates are for parking and the entrance sign for the conservation area. From there, your headlamp will reveal a string of reflective thumbtacks mounted on the trees. The trail enters the woods, and goes counterclockwise in a large circle. At some point you will see a tree with 3 reflectors – there you need to turn off to the right. Search near the tree with 2 reflectors. Once you replace the cache, come back out to the 3 reflector tree and continue the way you were going. You do not need to do any real bushwacking – if you have, you’ve gone off the trail. The ground trail should be difficult to see in the dark, but the reflectors will guide you, and the reflectors are very difficult to find during the day, and you may know where to go off the trail to find the cache. Terrain rating is a little high since it is to be in the dark and there are some eskers to maneuver over when you first enter the woods – these may be a little tricky, and difficult with snow. After that, the terrain is very level.

This cache was placed by the new Screaming Eagles team from Cub Scout Pack 4 of Hudson, with the help of team Maskvolk. The cache is stocked chock full with McToys.
