Geocache Description:

This multi-cache is a bit different. You will need to do most of this cache without a GPSr as most of the clues are found within the Caribou Public Library. Due to this, you will be limited to when you can solve these clues. The library's hours are Monday - Friday 10am to 8pm and Saturdays from 10am to 4 pm. The library is closed on Sundays. The coordinate given for this multi-cache is the parking lot for the library. Park and have fun!

Clue A: There is a plaque outside the front entrance (High Street) with a quote from Andrew Carnegie stating: "Let There Be Light". What is the EST. date on this plaque? _ _ _ _

Clue B: As you walk in from the front entrance (High Street), the room to your immediate right is the Clara Piper Room. Locate in this room a portrait of Mrs. Piper and find out that she was the librarian here from 1945 to _ _ _ _

Clue C: With the generous donation of $10,000 from Andrew Carnegie, this library was born. A portrait of Mr. Carnegie is in the Clara Piper room. It was a Gift of the Carnegie Corporation of New York in what year? _ _ _ _

Clue D: Located on the wall next to the women's bathroom door (next to the circulation desk) is a listing of librarians. How many years did the first librarian work at the library? (Subtract the start year from the end year to get this answer) _

Clue E: Children under _ _ years of age are not permitted upstairs. Find the way upstairs to the mezzanine to find this answer.

Clue F: Using one of the libraries card catalog computers, perform a title search for something that every Maine geocacher should have: The Maine Atlas and Gazetteer. What is the call number _ _ _ _ _ (omit the decimal point) Now add all the numbers in the call number together to get a 2 digit number. Now with that 2 digit number, add those 2 numbers together to get a single digit number: _ That’s the final answer for this clue.

Location of the cache:
46° 51.YYY' 068° 00.ZZZ'

To figure out YYY:
(Clue A + Clue F) x Clue D = _ _ _ _ - 8901 = YYY

To figure out ZZZ:
(Clue B + Clue C) x Clue E = _ _ _ _ _ - 46087 = ZZZ

Please re-hide this cache well! The cache is an ammo can chock full of goodies, including a book-crossing book. This cache is also the starting point for the Caribou Public Library travel bug!
