21-GUN SALUTE: OUR FREEDOMS

| We enjoy many freedoms and rights in this great county. Too
often we do not stop and think about those who have made it
possible. 21-Gun Salute is a series of five caches that will give
you the opportunity to reflect; to stop and appreciate what we have
and why we have it. To claim all five, you will visit 21 sites in
Lake County.* |
At each stop you will obtain information that will enable you to
solve the four caches and ultimately the 21-GUN SALUTE. The other

To claim 21-GUN SALUTE: OUR FREEDOMS, go to the four sites whose
coordinates are listed below. The sites represent freedoms and
rights we enjoy. A copy of the constitution will help in solving
this cache. Identify the U.S. Constitutional Amendment that is
represented by these sites. If more than one amendment applies, use
the LOWER numbered amendment.
The location of the cache is different from the other twenty
sites in that it is not directly associated with veterans. It was
chosen to represent the benefits of the freedoms we have. We
realized once again while wandering around Lake County with GPS
receivers in hand to finds the 21 sites for this series, how we can
take our freedoms for granted; no one even gave us a second glance
or questioned what we were doing.

club; do not enter the grounds. There is a small sign on the gate
(it may not be obvious if the gate is open) that will help you
determine the applicable amendment if you have not already done

plaques inside. Take the time to read them and it will also give
you the answer you are seeking for this site. |

Using the amendment numbers associated with each site, calculate
the location of the cache as follows:
North: Add (K + H - E)/1000 to the minutes of the north
coordinate listed for this cache.
West: Add [(H + J) x J x K - J]/1000 to the minutes of the west
coordinate listed for this cache.
The calculated coordinates will take you to the cache, a water
bottle wrapped in camo tape. Take a card that tells you how to
determine 'F' needed for solving the 21-GUN SALUTE and sign the
log. Leave only your thoughts. When you log your find, you might
want to share your thoughts on which of our many freedoms and
rights is particularly special to you.
These are not difficult to find, but they will take time to
complete. Our hope is that the time we spent developing the caches
and the time you spend seeking them will make us better appreciate
our country and those who have defended it.
*The caches are located throughout Lake county. This table
summarizes coordinates and requirements for all sites. It will
help you simultaneously work the five caches if you so desire.
