Geocache Description:

Ammo can Library. Just off the trail, among the smaller boulders. Trail has some elevation to it but nothing too difficult. Round trip less than 30 minutes.

Waiting on soccer practice to end? Need a good book to read? Enjoy a nice hike? This cache is for you - Boulder Canyon Library. Local citizens organized Keep Vestavia Green to protect this area for hiking and preserving the natural beauty of the creek, boulders and waterfalls. Local scouts have carefully carved several nice safe trails through the area. This Ammo Can cache is located amongst the small boulders just up from the trail intersections. The hide area has lots of little boulders, trees, stumps and poison ivy, so be careful. The lower trail starts near the entrance off Merry Fox Lane. A nice sign and bench will mark the start of this hike. Take the right path to the top where the trails intersect. Turn right and continue up the unmarked but obvious trail. This new trail was recently opened but the map on the sign hasn’t been updated yet. If you reach the end of the trail and a no trespassing sign you are close! We will keep an eye on this on and restock it as needed. If you have a paperback to drop off please add it to the cache, if not please enjoy one of those inside.

The soccer fields are in use almost every afternoon and most weekends so be careful not to draw too much attention. This is not a night time cache. There is plenty of parking, unless there is a tournament, and a great playground for the smaller kids. Take advantage of making the complete circuit on the trails as there are some great rocks and waterfalls along the creek. Please keep a hand on the little ones.

If you don't have a book to trade that ok, just grab one you like and sign the log, there is no need to swap non-book items, it will just take up room. Enjoy.

There are lots more folks hiking here now that spring has sprung, please rehide the container as well or better than you find it.
