Ardestie Earth House, like the similar one at Carlungie, is situated northeast of Monifieth. The (new) access to the site is across a field from the B962, not as in the past from the busy A92. Park at the verge on the B962, or if you are fairly local, take your bike!
Chéz Troglodyte? - Well, “souterrain” is French! Souterrains, or Earth Houses like this one at Ardestie, were not really dwellings, but for storage – you can read far more about them on site.
The cache was placed, and can be found, without disturbing any part of the historic site. Film canister with log inside small Lock + Lock containing pencil and bits.
