Geocache Description:

Hidden Treasures of North Florida
Hamilton County

Background: Located on the Suwannee River, Big Shoals Public Lands contains the largest whitewater rapids in Florida. During periods of low rainfall, the riverbed and banks display rocky outcroppings and overhangs, small caves, and sandbars. Hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing are available on 28 miles of wooded trails. Picnic tables and a pavilion are available. Summary: This is another must do short hikes in Florida. The Suwannee River is beautiful and seeing the shoals makes it that much better. Very easy trail well marked.
