Welcome to “A Tour of Town Park”.
The park has a rich history. You can visit
www.canonsburgtownpark.com to read about it. Some parts of
the park are more used than others (some parts, not at all).
It remains a popular place to cool off in the summer, either
at the pool or at the concert stage. This multi-stage cache
will have you visit most of this park. Bring a pencil and
paper. The coordinates for the second and final stages can be
obtained by simple substitution and a little bit of
math.
To find the park from east end of
town, follow Pike Street through town and turn right onto Belmont
(past Bogan Funeral Home on right), left onto Spruce, and a quick
right onto Woodland. The park entrance is located on the right;
parking is on the left after you enter the park. Parking
coordinates are: N 40 15.826 and W 080 11.593.
Stage 1: This area has muggle
potential. You are looking for a plaque. Use the date of birth on
the plaque to solve for the coordinates for stage 2. Birth date: A,
BC, DEFG Stage 2 Coordinates: N 40 D (A-B) . E (C-B) (B+D) and W
080 D D . A G D
Stage 2: You are looking for a series of
6 numbers on a small, silver disc (approx. silver dollar size).
Muggles are usually fewer in this section of the park. Use these
numbers to find the final stage. Disc #HIJKLM Final Stage
Coordinates: N 40 L M . (H-H) (M+I) I and W 080 L L . (L+M) (I+I+K)
(H+I)
Final Stage: Do not try to bushwack from
the paved trail or dirt road. The borough has enlarged a small deer
trail that will lead into the cache area. You’ll find a well
stocked ammo box. Remember to re-hide the box as you found it, and
please trade fairly.
If you need help, check the hints. Enjoy
& good luck!
