Testing, Testing, Two (Beds) Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

choccymandm: Wow, that was a disappointing trip! Went to replace the cache today to find the whole area has been flattened! Literally! The benches have gone, all the trees chopped down, the bridge has all but collapsed presumably under the weight of the vehicles going over it and the whole landscape looks more like a bomb has been dropped on it then the pretty valley/stream affair it used to be!

Sad to say, but we think it's time to put this one to sleep .... it almost made it to 10 years in the field!!

Thanks to all those who visited.

Choccy M and M and Pip and Dot!

Geocache Description:

A simple multi-cache situated close to the village of Millbrook, Bedfordshire and a pleasant walk along part of the Greensands Ridge footpath.

Millbrook Proving Grounds has been used for vehicle testing for many years. Companies like BMW, Vauxhall, Porsche and even Formula 1 teams have been known to use the track to test their vehicles, who knows what you may see or perhaps hear on the track during your visit?

Parking can found at these co-ordinates N52 02.335 W000 31.602 with some additional parking at the Village Hall - N52 02.298 W000 31.528 for those who might feel the need to use the swings in the local park!

Follow the path marked Marston Vale Timberland Trail which will eventually lead you to the co-ordinates listed above and a view point above the track looking out toward Bedford.

Once you've got there you'll be able to answer the following questions ... get the correct answer and you'll have the correct number to enter into the equation which will give you the final location for the cache.

The total round trip is about 2 miles and although the footpaths are well kept they can get a squelchy under foot. Regrettably it is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs due to some steep slopes.

This cache replaces Testing, Testing which is now archived, details of which can be found here ... providing you're logged in!!
