Lower end of Zuni Canyon road. Begins just West of Grants off of Hwy 53. Watch for road sign next to RV park. Watch for broken glass near the cache. I picked up a bunch but more remains.
An introduction to a very scenic and historic drive. There are many offshoots from Zuni Canyon. The main road is gravel and maintained. Some of the offshoots can be tuff in wet weather though rarely requiring 4WD.
The cache is on the main road. There are numerous opportunities for caches in the area. Zuni Canyon goes all the way over to Hwy 53 several miles West of Grants.
The usual warnings regarding weather, desert critters etc apply.
I intend to follow up on this one. Check in the really first class multi agency visitor center just West of I 40 in Grants for literature about the Zuni Mountains and historic trails.
