DUE TO THE HEAVY RAINS & THE FORECAST OF CONTINUING HEAVY RAINS THE EVENT MUST BE POSTPONED TO NOVEMBER 5TH, 2005. THE CONDITIONS ARE NOT CONDUCIVE TO SAFE CACHING WITH HEAVY FLOODING AND MUDDY TRAILS. WE'LL TRY THIS AGAIN IN 3 WEEKS!
CITO event in Hopatcong's Wildlife Refuge area. Meet at coordinates (parking area) at 1:00 p.m. There are 5 caches in the refuge and 2 others within a mile.
This event is being sponsored by alnpd with the assistance and participation of Cub Scout Pack 194 of Hopatcong and dobsonian as part of Hopatcong Clean Up Day. The area has 5 caches by 3 by dobsonian, 1 by creaky joints and 1 by me and time permitting I will place a another prior to the event. This area not only attracts geocachers, it also seems to attract illegal dumpers. The Pack asks participants to bring garbage bags (CITO Bags are a plus) as well as gloves and their "normal" geocaching equipment. Travel Bugs are welcome and appreciated! We hope to see the geocaching community come out in support of Pack 194! Please meet at coordinates by 1:00 p.m. on Saturday 11/5/05. The coordiantes lead to a small parking area at the end of Brooklyn Mtn Rd. Additional parking available on the area streets. There is a members only cache as well which will be changed for the CITO but returned to members only after due to recent gps wielding mugggles playing games with the caches back there.
