Sheltowee's Home Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Chuck Walla: Greetings from Geocaching.com!

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and other geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache, please e-mail me in response to this archival, and I will unarchive your cache.

Some time ago, we posted a note to your cache page requesting a response from you to post what you were planning to do with the cache on the page and to send us a note. We have no record of a response, and no response tells us that you are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If we are wrong with that assumption, please let us know promptly.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Sincerely,

Chuck Walla

Geocache Description:

Hexagon shaped plastic container with screw-on lid. Camo painted. Short walk on a trail along the creek. Flat creek rocks, narrow trail, fallen logs and slight elevation changes. I would not recommend smaller children unless they are part goat.

This is Sheltowee's Home. Congratulations to nidomio on FTF!

Sheltowee is a TB that had it's home coordinates written in Sharpie on it's body. Awhile later another cacher placed and activated an actual TB tag on the object. Since then it has traveled around.

I anticipated placing this cache back at the TB's original home coordinates but could not do it since it seems to be about 1/2 mile off the road on someone's private property. (Maybe Sheltowee's owner?) So, I went a bit down the road and placed this cache by a Cadron Creek access point that runs into Cove Creek that Sheltowee calls home.

This container has typical STW starter swag.  FTF prize is a SpankytheWizard Figurine.

Park here - N35 17.093 W092 28.313 and walk down the ramp and find the nature trail leading under the bridge and towards the cache - have fun.
(Parking area has sign that says "No weapons with ammunition")

Bring a family friendly music CD and visit GCG9EY (Otterspoon it's NOT!) and GCNF0M (Beaverville) while up in the area. Swimming trunks and fishing gear are recommended for the latter location. Have fun!
