Fish Hatchery Road, off Highway 141. Best to take the road past Camp Ramah and park close to the trail head. Once on the trail, follow it until you come to the top of the waterfalls before you start your near summit hike. It's a steep one!!
Prior to 1991 trout fingerlings were once raised for release in local streams. The Fish Hatchery now provides visitors with trails that winds past the old hatchery ponds and along the river draining Skeleton Lake. The ponds have since been naturalized.
Views include a small waterfall and rapids. The waterfall is an excellent spot for a picnic and a swim in an old fashioned swimming hole. The park also has access to Skeleton Lake, should you wish to throw a canoe in for a tour. Also note the base of trees close to the cache site, it looks as though someone had camp fire, which spread to the roots of the surrounding trees causing an underground fire. These are slow growing fires, which are very dangerous, It's good to see this forest still intact.
The cache is found in a large old tackle box. Fred guards this cache, see if you can spot him for permission to trade. His choice trades are fish/pond related.
