This get together is very much an informal event from 12:30 to
15:30 on the Sunday 20th of November 2005. The venue is upstairs in
The Cumberland Arms, Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 1LD
(http://www.thecumberlandarms.co.uk/).
This pub one of the few remaining tradition pubs in Newcastle.
It has a friendly atmosphere and is featured in the CAMRA Good Beer
Guide so you can count on a good pint of real ale. Bar food will be
available should you fancy something to eat.
Dogs are welcome and children welcome tolerated
upstairs.
To get to the venue by car cross over the Tyne Bridge from the
south or drive down the A167(M) central motorway from the north.
Exit at the swan house roundabout (first exit after the bridge
northbound, short exit after the first underpass but before the
bend southbound). Take the Eastbound exit along City Road (don’t
panic about the small one way bit), continue for a mile and turn
left so you pass the red carpet store. Go down the hill and up the
other side and turn left on to James Place Street (Byker Buildings
on most maps). If all the parking is gone then go up one road and
you will find plenty at the end of Stephen Street.
If arriving by public transport then either walk down from
Manners (3/4 mile) or Byker Metro (1/2 mile), or take the bus to
the bottom of Shields Road by Morrisons (250 yards).
Thank you to all who have given help and support with arranging
the event, it is appreciated.
