Near Johnstone Creek Park between Osoyoos and Rock Creek BC on Highway 3. Check out gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/johnston for a nice place to camp.
Suggested parking for this cache is at the west entrance to the campground (N 49 deg 02.678' W 119 deg 03.297')or within the campground itself and take the short walk to the cache. Use caution when crossing highway as there are blind corners both ways of the cache. For safety sake, please don't park on the highway.
We discovered this particular point of interest on our many trips to Children's Hospital in Vancouver. I like to call this a "Nature Cache". Binoculars are not needed here. Take the time to watch and respect nature for a few minutes. IMPORTANT - NO "House Wrecking Parties" allowed.
Satellite coverage was not that great at the time of placement, so we had to take the coordinates on the S side of the highway and project. Regardless, I don't think you will have any trouble with this one.
Container is a pirate like container (green tobacco can), and original contents are: FTF prize, hair clip, Salmo pin, Canada magnet, pen, incense (in sealed container), geocaching button and of course the obligatory cache site sheet, log book pencil and sharpener. Please replace cache as found -- There is no need to remove anything to extract cache. If pictures are taken, please do so as a spoiler
