Brackett's Landing and Underwater Park is a great little park next to the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry. I take the kids here often. This is fun little six part multi-cache at the park. The final is a small tupperware type with a white lid.
George Brackett (1841-1928) founded Edmonds in 1876. He built the first saw mill here in 1889. He also was the first mayor and postmaster. The ferry nearby began service in 1923. Wave as the trains go by.
The starting coordinates take you to the "Cold Water Diving and Underwater Safety Park" sign. You will probably see divers while you are here as this is the most popular of the ten Washington state underwater diving parks. The waters of the Puget Sound are quite cold. The temperature ranges from 4(D) to 52 degrees year around.
At N 47º 48.784 W 122º 22.948 you will see a number of bronze sea animals. How many sea urchins do you see? How many moonsnails do you see? Sea urchins + moonsnails = (E)
*Many people seem to have miscalculated this one, so here's a double check: There is a white sign with red letters on the ground a few feet north (there are actually a couple signs). No scuba or skin diving is allowed within (E)00 feet of the ferry dock.
At N 47º 48.767 W 122º 22.961 you will find an anchor. The anchor was salvaged in 197(F). This site got on the state register of historic places on July 30, 19GH G+H=(A)
At N 47º 48.823 W 122º 22.913 you will find the "A Haven For Marine Life" sign. On the sign, the number (C) is associated with the Sunflower Star.
Go to the end of the jetty and have a seat on one of the rocks and enjoy the view. How many boulders are in the ellipse? (B)
The final is at N 47º 48.ABC W 122º 22.DEF
