Geocache Description:

The “SH” in the cache name above signifies a Spirit Hunt, a project by the Miami Valley Geocachers to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens. This cache is part of that series created by MVG members to highlight cemeteries in the area. Please be respectful of the area.

This cache is in, according to the sparse records we have found, an old Quaker cemetery. It is obviously a very old cemetery, as you will see immediately when you observe the road surrounding it. Surprisingly, the cemetery contains a couple of graves of people who lived into their 90s, which was not very common back then. Other graves are of children, and many graves are not even readable anymore.

The gate may appear to be chained, but there is a latch on the chain, and it is always unlocked. In order to be as respectful as possible, please visit the cemetery only during daylight hours. This cemetery is township-owned. There is a spot to pull off the road near the gate.

The cache itself is a traditional micro. Please replace the cache exactly as you found it in order to preserve the camouflage. The easiest way to get the log back into the container is to place it in the lid first and then screw the lid onto the container. Bring your own pen or pencil for this one.

We found this place years ago and used to drive out this way to look at the beautiful sunsets that can be seen from this road. Enjoy this unique, small, interesting cemetery and take a moment to look around. Some of the grave markers have interesting inscriptions.
