Sometimes you have a great area, but no trails to get you there. This series addresses this problem. Each cache will address a certain rule for making your own trail as you go.
Several cachers while doing one of my caches in this area have remarked that while trying to find a better way out of the deep woods that: “Water runs down hill”, this is a great way to blaze a trail in a location that you are not that familiar with. If you know where the creek exits the woods and you are sure you are on the right creek, this simple rule will usually help you get to a location. There is also the advantage of a creek bed to follow which will keep you out of the brush.
This area in the knobs of central Kentucky is owned by Hardin County. It is being developed into a mountain bike and hiking area. To get to this area from Elizabethtown it is best to exit I 65 at exit 94 and drive East on US 62 approximately 6 plus miles, turn right onto 583 then drive 1.25 miles and turn onto Miller Road. Drive Miller Road until you pass through a tunnel under the BG Parkway and then park in the field just after the bridge across the creek. It is best to take the Youngers Creek (TT) Trial that is back towards the tunnel. This is the only way to access this cache without crossing private property. Parking is at: N37*42.979 W085*44.903
