Northern End of Newell Beach, short walk along the beach and then into the scrub for about 10 meters.
Here is a chance to get out and have a casual stroll along the beach on one of the 'hidden jewels' of North Queensland. A quiet and secluded beach this is one of the beaches that Cairns locals holiday at, away from the hussle and bussle of the 'tourist orientated beaches'. Dogs are allowed on the beach on a leash. I recommend parking at about S16º25.215 E145º.24.460 and walking along the beach to this cache. When you get adjacent to the cache walk into the obvious clearing. Cache is hidden on the northern side of the clearing at the base of a large forked tree. It is covered with loose debris but is obvious. Cache contains numerous small items to appeal to GeoCachers of all ages. Cache is a black plastic container with spare zip bags and trinkets for the kids. New log placed in the cache 8th April 2009 with 2 new biros. Screw lid container. Please make sure the lid is screwed tight when replacing the cache. Please take mosquito/insect repellent spray as sometimes there can be mozzies after recent rain. Happy GeoCaching!!!
