Geocache Description:

INKY Social for October will be held on October 18 at 6:30pm at Fazoli's at 3083 Breckenridge Ln., Louisville, which is at the posted coords above. The banquet room is reserved for us. Instead of bringing food, each of us will take care of his own meal by ordering from a very reasonable and far-ranging Italian menu. Plenty of convenient parking will be available.

Because October is a highly variable month weather-wise, we decided to consult our primary source for long-term weather forecasts-- The Old Farmer's Almanac. For our region the Almanac forecasts the October 14-20 time frame as follows: "Showers & Chilly."

Originally, we were looking forward to going the shelter route for our INKY gettogether, but at this time of year, with weather conditions likely to become lousy in a hurry, we decided that an indoor venue might be more appropriate. Besides, those warm breadsticks that Fazoli's lavishes upon you at every turn are pretty tempting. And if the Almanac is correct, like it quite often is, then they will be a very welcome adjunct to the regular, very reasonable entrees that have made Fazoli's a very popular eatery.

So Fazoli's it is! But in addition to the food, we will also have FIVE EVENT CACHES to whet your appetites. We will also have a door prize or two, so come prepared to have some fun.

A WORD ABOUT THE FARMER'S ALMANAC FORECASTS: The Almanac derives its forecasts from a secret formula that was devised by its founder, Robt. Thomas, in 1792. Over the years it has been refined with state-of-the-art technology and modern scientific calculations. Long-range predictions are based on solar science, climatology and meteorology. Weather trends are predicted by comparing solar patterns and historical weather conditions with current solar activity. Accuracy of the Almanac's forecasts over the years has consistently hovered at 80%. We can vouch for them personally. That's why we always give each other copies of the Almanac, as stocking stuffers, each Christmas. There happens to be a lot of other good stuff in the Almanac, too! If you've never read the Almanac, you've missed out on a lot of interesting knowledge and culture.
