Geocache Description:

More Fun in Towners Woods

Another cache located in Towners Woods park in Portage County. Towners woods is a great park with about 175 acres, miles of hiking trails, sledding hills, cross county ski trails and a Hopewell Indian mound. Located next to lake Pippen, Towners Woods offer excellent bird watching opportunities, there are a variety of ecosystems to be found in this park and is quite fun to explore in all seasons. As an added bonus, Towners Woods is a dog friendly park. Your well behaved geodog is welcome on a leash. The park is open from dawn to dusk, no night caching!

This area of the park is pretty neat. The small lake to the west is private property, but it's not close to the cache area s don't worry. Because this one is so close to the park entrance you'll have to be stealthy in your search. Although we have never seen anyone in the gazebo, there is a constant stream of traffic going by on the trail.

As always, be certain to conceal the cache well, don't make the cache easier to find, this is a busy area in the park and you will be visible during your search and the curious might want to visit to see what you where up to. Replace it in the exact same spot!

Remember, this is Northeast Ohio, there is mud in the Spring, bugs and poison ivy in the Summer, leaves in the Fall and snow in the Winter so dress appropriately!  Wear industrial strength insect repellant in the warmer months, there are hungry mosquitoes and deer flies.

Good luck and have fun!
