The name of this geocache comes from the location in which you are searching.
From the information gathered by the government from the 2000 Census, this little community was determind to be the population center of North Carolina. This means if you could balance the state on the tip of a pencil, Erect is where you would have to put that balance point.
From the location of the cache, you can almost see the entire community. Teague Store and Erect Fire Department to the South. The location of the old Brower Elementary School, which your standing on, and the Erect tower to north.
After finding this cache, go to the top of the little hill behind the dugout on the left hand side of the grandstand. There cemeted at ground level is a plaque placed by the US Census Bureau, marking the population center.
