Geocache Description:

Box Canyon Dam and Lake Siskiyou are relative newcomers to the south Siskiyou County area. The dam was constructed southwest of Mt. Shasta City for flood control in 1969. The resulting waters covered up two old and beautiful ranches belonging to the Boss and Spini families.
More recently Box Canyon was the scene of a rescue, by helicopter, that was featured on national television. When you see the canyon you will see just how spectacular, and dangerous, this rescue was. The view is spectacularly beautiful. No need to risk life and limb to find this one. Be safe. (May need tweezers to remove log) $$ for FTF new hide.
