Location is Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry. This is a very easy walk with a lot of history mixed in. These coordinates are just a starting point. Once there you will need to solve the puzzle of the Captain’s Triangle. There are 5 important clues that all have something in common. You will need to find a war veteran, the devils mailbox, a minister, a captain and a deacon. Once you form the triangle at one corner a finger will be your guide.
This is a micro cache with a very small log. Bring pen.
1- Start by finding a war veteran Robert Jeffers. He and his son were war heroes.
2- Now set a course of 275 degrees and make your way to the Devils Mailbox about 310 feet.
You will know the Devils Mailbox because it’s the only marker not made of stone and bears a symbol of a unique club /\.
A seeing eye looks west and the hourglass looks south.
3- Next set course 147 degrees till you come to the first minister of Derry, Reverend James McGregore about 260 feet.
4- Now take a bearing 125 degrees and go on till you come to Capt Moses Holt. Note the unique club symbol here
again /\. Notice if you take a bearing of about 20 degrees and go about 275 feet you come back to the veteran again.
5- At the southern most corner of the triangle face due east and look for a Deacon Ela. Mr. Solomon Keys left it between a tree and a lawn stole and Deacon Ela will show you the way.
This is a place of many clues if you can see them. There were rumors long ago that the Reverend James McGregore had a relative from Scotland that was a pirate sea captain. It was told that he shipwrecked off the Isle of Shoals with a map and treasure. To this day it’s never been found and no truth to the story can be proven. A few years back Archaeologist were looking for the remains of the Sagunto there. The remains of 14 sailors would have made a mountain of bones they said but none were ever found.

A hasty prayer was uttered there, --
Unknown, unknelled, they slept.
Someone long ago did find a small clue on one of the islands. Legend has it that on one side was a black spot and on the other was the words MAP IN DERY. This is how the legend came to be. People thought the pirate captain entrusted his pirate map to the Reverend James McGregore for safekeeping. After all Black Beard brought his 15th wife here to honeymoon. What a spot! There is a lot of history at the Isle of Shoals and in this cemetery. Check it out for yourself.
