Geocache Description:

The Wonga (formerly Tonalli) Mine is located a short walk from Yerranderie's Private Town. It opened in 1911 and was worked in conjunction with the Burragorang Mine. The main shaft is 850ft long with a slope of 18 degrees. Mining operations in the area were largely concerned with recovering Silver (Ag), Lead (Pb) and Zinc (Zn). A few of the mines also yielded some gold. Some of the ore from this mine assayed as high as 1,500 ozs of silver per ton and 60% lead. Examples of ore containing silver, lead and other elements can still be found around the entrance to the mineshaft.

The cache is a 200ml container containing a logbook, pencil, sharpener and some small trinkets.

This cache is located in a very remote location. Please do some research and plan accordingly before attempting it.
