This cache is not wheelchair accessible, however I don't want to modify the original terrain rating which may change many previous finder's challenge statistics. Terrain is 1.5 at worst. No photo logs, no signature then no find, no excuses.
This small cache, conveniently located on the edge of Virginia Highlands Park, just a short walk from the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, provides an opportunity (or an excuse) to get out of the mall and do some geocaching.
If you come on a Saturday afternoon, you might have some company nearby. This park is the home turf of the National Capital Club de Petanque, who play here every Saturday from 2pm until dusk.
What exactly is Petanque (pronounced "paytonk")? An information board explains the game (see backside of board); or, if you're feeling athletic, come at 2pm on Saturdays for free lessons and a loaner set of boule.
Free, two-hour parking is available at the far end of the parking lot off of Hayes Street. Metered parking is available on-street and in the parking lot next to the soccer fields (bring change during the weekday). Metro buses pass by.
