Geocache Description:

This puzzle cache is a response to Rat In A Maze, by Mix76. If you can stand bad poetry, can handle some maths and puzzle solving, and would like a short tour around Maitland, then this cache is for you. It is especially for Mix76.

The solving of the puzzles requires you to use UTM co-ordinates rather than the standard degrees/minutes format.
Solve the puzzle at each waypoint, adding the answers to the UTM co-ordinates of where you are to find where you need to go.

EG: The posted co-ords take you to waypoint 1. Add the puzzle answer to waypoint 1's UTM co-ords and you will have the co-ords to waypoint 2, and so on.

Ready? Here goes...

You stand upon your first goal,
A statement of history past,
Change these letters into numbers,
And by all means do it fast,
DCG AHFI
Your next goal is so very near,
Now extrapolate and arithmeticate to find the answer here,
Add BAI to your Eastings,
Take ACD from your Norths,
Its simple when you know
To use UTM of course.

An image in a circle, a year within the circle’s frame,
Change SLPJ into numbers, careful, the order’s not the same.
And another sort of figure shows in this disk of yesteryear,
Total the figures to make a numeral,
Let’s call it X, to make things clear
Write out your numbers in your journal
Your next goal can be found today
If you subtract ‘X+RMS’ from East,
And from North take ‘X+LQK’

Time stands still here and still moves on all the same,
Solve this next part of the puzzle if you wish to win this game,
When time is at it’s thinnest, you must look down or you may fry,
A double digit number is what you will espy,
Use this number twice, four digits overall,
Add them to your Easting, now you’re on the ball
Square your double digit number, subtract from it just two,
Take this fully from your Northing, at least I would if I were you.

A place at last to catch your breath and rest
But not too long oh weary one, for this is a test
Look about for metal memories, come and strain your eyes
A woman's name in tribute from a god so fast he flies
Two long past years are given, standing side by side
The first to your east must add, and carefully not divide
Then subtract 717 to gain an answer new
The second to your north, must be added to
Then finally, at last, remove 2233 and stop right there.
You have the second number of your elusive pair
Your freshest new co-ordinates of easterly and north
Armed with your latest digits now you must sally forth.

A man of local legend, his name is scattered near and far
Find his name upon a rock, but be mindful of the cars,
This task is short and simple, you could not possibly go wrong,
Count the letters in his surname, it will be quick, his name’s not long,
Add your answer to 166, and then this to your East,
And add it to 679, then from your North subtract,
You have your next co-ordinates,
So hurry, you must act.

People used to hang around here, once upon a time
Not for simple pleasure, but because of their crime,
Walk between the silent jury as they hold aloft the beams
Count their number, check it twice in case it is not what it seems,
You are closer to completion, do the sums to find the key,
To the East add the jurors number sixty times, and then add another three,
For North you must subtract a number you did not have before,
Take jurors and their judge, square them all then times by ten,
Then add another three to get your needed score.

You’ve nearly reached your destination, the path lays there before you,
Find the circle without rest and take a bearing, I implore you
284 magnetic, then count out metres thirty four
You should then have your quarry cornered, and should need to search no more.
