THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE NOT FOR THE CACHE BUT ARE FOR THE NEAREST GUARANTEED PARKING AND A LOGICAL STARTING POINT TO TACKLE THE CACHE.
This cache is located in Pioneer Park, the site of the old Forrestfield rubbish tip. Points of interest (apart from the cache) are a small electricity plant generating power from the underground gases being given off by the decomposing rubbish and some spring time wildflowers including orchids and a mass of Kangaroo Paws.
To find this cache you must first have completed the cache "PaddyK Cache 002 : The Lost Treasure Trove". You must work out how to use the "clues" left at that cache to come up with the coordinates for this follow-up cache.
The Lost Treasure Trove did not contain all the treasure of the Pirate King. The Pirate King had entrusted Jon and Ned the pirate twins with the task of hiding his own personal treasure reserve. Shortly thereafter Ned then lost his head after a nasty accident with a rusty cutlass which left only Jon knowing where the Captain's reserve was hidden. Luckily for you Ned left behind some clues as to the whereabouts of his brother Jon.
Find pirate Jon and he can lead you to the final treasure.
WAYPOINT 1 : Refer to the Waypoint1 image posted with this listing and decode it using the clues from "PaddyK Cache 002 : The Lost Treasure Trove". Waypoint is a 35mm film canister.
WAYPOINT 2 : Use the clues from "PaddyK Cache 002 : The Lost Treasure Trove" to decode the coordinates found at Waypoint 1. Waypoint is a 35mm film canister.
WAYPOINT 3 : Use the clues from "PaddyK Cache 002 : The Lost Treasure Trove" to decode the coordinates found at Waypoint 2. Waypoint is a small (250ml) plastic screw top food container.
THE CACHE : Use the clues from "PaddyK Cache 002 : The Lost Treasure Trove" to decode the coordinates given to you by pirate Jon at Waypoint 3. The cache is a PVC tube approximately 45cm by 10cm but don't let this influence your search strategy.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL THE COORDINATES MAY BE OUT BY UP TO 5 METRES BUT THE WAYPOINTS AND THE CACHE ARE LOCATED AT OBVIOUS FEATURES. USE YOUR GPS AND YOUR GUT FEELING AND HOPEFULLY YOU WON'T HAVE TOO MANY PROBLEMS.
Original cache contents include the usual cache requisites plus: 3 X pirate pistols with cache cards / 2 X skulls with cache cards / 1 X pirate with cache card / 3 X pieces of pirate "gold" and cache cards / 1 X pirate hat and eye patch and cache card / 4 X sheets of pirate stickers.
Finder rewards are available for the first six teams but as cache space is at a premium you will have to do an additional hunt to find your reward. Those claiming a finder reward should leave the original cache plunder for others.
Finder rewards for this cache are small chests that include a finder badge / pirate pistol / piece of pirate gold and a cache card / eye patch / a new PaddyK Collectable - The Geocaching Stamp. 1st, 2nd and 3rd finders also get a pirate figurine.
