The cache is set on the craggs above the north third reservoir,
mind the drop when you're up there
A gentle stroll, to start off with, by the woods and then
leading you out on to the open hill side above the reservoir.
Follow the rough path across the hills, until you are past the trig
point. Shortly after this you'll need to veer off the path, there
is a faint track through the greenery to an informal viewpoint over
the reservoir.
The views from the cache site and the trig point are amazing, on
a clear day, as it was when we placed the cache, we could see right
through to the mountains, well into Fife, the ochils and westward
towards Glasgow. One good point is Grangemouth is hidden behind the
trees.
Parking is available in a layby at N56° 04.042 W003° 59.798,
there is further parking just over the brow of the hill.
This track is dog and child friendly, but not suitable for
buggies or wheelchairs. It is muddy and uneven so stout footwear
would be advised, as would a wind proof jacket!! While we were up
we met several dog walkers and one mad cyclist, who told us the
path is well used as a downhill cycle track, rather them than
us.
