Geocache Description:

This is one of four caches placed on the Bar-M Loop trail, which spans the distance between the Dead Horse Point turnoff (Hwy 313) and Arches National Park, just north of Moab. You can get very close to #1 and #2 on foot, mountain bike, dirt bike, ATV, 4WD, or, if the road is dry, a high-clearance 2WD vehicle. The terrain is pretty level, and not technically challenging. As of the spring of 2009, portions of the trail, including the stretch near #3 and #4, are closed to motorized vehicles.

There is also a bonus cache located on a nearby stretch of the Sovereign Trail, quite close to civilization of a sort (and parking). You'll need information from all four Bar-M&M caches to find the bonus cache, but unlike a traditional multi-cache, each of the four is a find in its own right, and you can do them in any order.

Each cache contains poker chips with one component of the coordinates of the bonus cache, lat/long on one side and UTM on the other. The numbers are also written inside the lid of the container, in case all the chips are gone. Help yourself to a chip, and make the following substitutions to get the coordinates of the bonus cache:

The lat/long codes are ONE digit each (A, B, C, and D):

All the caches are medium-size (2qt.) plastic containers, and the original contents include dog toys, clickers, Ninja Turtles, Matchbox-type emergency response vehicles, mini-flashlights, games, carabiners, "magic towels," stickers, and earrings.

Bar-M&M #2 is on a short side trail out on the slickrock. It's close to one end of the new (as of 2009) Circle O trail, which does not allow motorized vehicles, but you can drive to within about 200 ft. of the cache. If you have time, you can continue on foot to the rim of Seven Mile Canyon for a great view down into the canyon.
