This cache is located in the Deserted Village section of the 2065 acre Watchung Reservation, Union County, NJ. This site is listed on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places. A trail map can be obtained at the Trailside Nature center, New Providence Rd. Enjoy a nice easy hike on the trails with some bushwhacking.
The Coordinates lead you to the top of a natural wonder, The Great Gorge, Follow the lower trail along the river, cross the bridge to the gorge base. For some added adventure climb up through the beautiful gorge, or climb the steep trail to the left of the gorge. The terrain is a little rough so watch your step. Please rehide and secure cache before leaving. Parking is available off of Glenside Road at N40 41.002, W074 23.295.
