SW of Cable Mtn RD somewhat steep short hike at 6600 elevation
Gold miners in the late 1800's had a tough time in the winters. They brought their families and too often buried them. On a small ridge above Cable Mtn road, you'll find that legacy. Tread lightly, take pictures, leave Joe and his companions in peace. I found this small cemetary 20 years ago, and recently returned to get the coordinates. I've pondered the ethics of leading people to this site, but believe everyone here will respect Joe's last resting place. Cache contains a nylon lunch sack, airplane toy, maglite holder, poncho, Yo-yo, coppper bracelet, fire starter, kleenex, Altoids, log book and fixins. Assorted rocks.
