This cache is located on an island on the Little Yellow River and can only be accessed by kayak or canoe. The Little Yellow River flows into Castle Rock Lake. Water levels can be low at this time of year so canoers may need to portage in some spots. There are two public boat landings in the area. Coordinates for these landings are: N 4355.599 W 090 03.354 and for the second boat landing: N 43 55.787 W 090 03.357. There is limited parking at each spot.
You can put in and take out your boat at the same spot which means you will be paddling up river. The current is not that strong so paddling is not that difficult.
You are looking for a match container so bring your own pen. There is a lot of wildlife to see in this area so bring your camera. When placing the cache today I saw lots of ducks, geese, and eagle and several blue herons. I have also seen deer and snapping turtles and of course, fish.
