Hilly walk, moderately steep in places. Tarmac some of the way, but
rocky and muddy for about half the walk. Lovely views towards
Glastonbury Tor.
Nearly 2000 years ago a weary Roman soldier from the Second Legion
Augusta based in Exeter stopped for his lunch on the long march to
Lincoln. Choosing a nice shady spot with a splendid view of
Glastonbury Tor he rested and ate a hearty meal. Suddenly in the
distance he spotted a group of Celtic tribesmen, and as he was on
his own with no chance of winning the inevitable scuffle he dropped
his lunch box and ran like the wind!
Over the years the Centurion's lunch box became lost, waiting for
an amateur archaeologist with a magic GPS to rediscover it and its
contents.
Original contents: Logbook and pen.
4 highlighter pens.
Jungle stamp kit.
3 animal erasers.
Dog puzzle.
Grampa Simpson TB.
