Near Lake Tinaroo in an area sometimes used for bushwalking by local school camps etc.
The leech cave is a natural cave under some large granite boulders. It is about 10m long, 3m wide and 2m high. It is marked on the topographic map (Tinaroo 1:50 000) as a building - look carefully.
The cache is a 1 litre plastic fruit container with green lid. When hidden it contained logbook, pen, pencil and sharpener, hackysack, key tag, bubble blower, kids playing cards and finger puppet.
Best place to park to attempt the cache by foot is near the Scout Camp Barrabadeen entrance, 2.5km from the dam wall along Danbulla Drive.
The walk includes a 150m climb and should take about 3-4 hours return from Danbulla drive. There are many cattle / walking tracks to use in the area to make your travel easier. Why not consider walking also to the top of Black Mountain while you're there to take in the tableland views.
