Located in Elizabeth Lake Conservation Area. The cache site is approx. a 1/2 mile hike from the parking lot and is located just off the main trail.
The cache site has been moved from it's original location.
Park at N42:29.020 / W088:16.875 The cache is located in a small McHenry County Conservation District preserve. This is a fairly new park that is not well known. The park has a short (1.0 mile) hiking trail with a nice view of Lake Elizabeth. There is abundant wildlife; the day we visited we saw numerous red-tail hawks and some sand cranes. The cache is in a clear plastic rubbermaid container a short distance from the original site.
In accordance with new MCCD regulations:
+ This cache is on MCCD land with permission
+ Do not place food, inappropriate, offensive or hazardous materials in the cache
+ Remain on designated trails: no bushwacking allowed
+ Site is open sunrise to sunset: some gates not open until 8AM
+ Site may only be accessed thru the main entrance for the park.
+ Visitors must observe all rules of the MCCD site
