TheWeatherWarrior placed this hidden gem but now the Warrior must move on to battle weather in far off lands so he granted me the opportunity to adopt this cache. Thanks Warrior I shall do my best taking of this cache. I plan to swing by soon to add new swag and check on it and will post in the log once I reload it.
So named for the Historical area neaby known as Tobytown. There is a park adjacent to the community.
This is the second traditional cache I added (in one day) to try and fill some holes in the Potomac area, on the Maryland side at least. Frankly the town isn't made of historic structures or anything, but it did provide a rare spot to actual place a cache without being on private property or National Park property.
This cache may be a little hard to park close to. I suggest using Pennyfield Lock Road, rather than finding a place along River Road. On Pennyfield Lock Road, there is a little driveway type paving area, you can pull off the road enough to not block traffic. Don't pull up too far, as this paving turns into a pedestrian path. About one or two cars at maximum.

Note: Just down the road a little more is Lock 22, where there is lots to see, and the C&O Canal towpatch.
Note: The spoiler is nearly an exact description of the spot, not just a hint!
