Geocache Description:

THIS IS THE FIRST IN THE BILLY GOAT SERIES
Terrain is steep and continuous and you need to be in shape.

A hike in a wonderful preserve. A true gem of an area.
This is the third cache in this wonderful 550 acre preserve and the first in the Bily Goat series. The other caches in this preserve being "On the Way to the Pantry." and “Middle Hill” . Parking for the preserve is about a 1/2 mile up Mine Hill Road in Roxbury. Mine Hill Road is just West of where Rte 67 crosses the Shepaug River. This is a about a 5.5 mile round trip and regardless of which route you take you DO NOT HAVE TO BUSHWACK. When you start your hunt you can think like a donkey or think right and head to the furnace which ever you choose you are headed for red. Once you see red you about 2/3rds of the way there. Once you find the cache a 50 cal. ammo box you do not need to retrace your steps but continue the loop.
The Billy Goat series is for those who want a challenge and enjoy a little exercise.
