Well, I'm a slow pace toward the 1000 found-caches achievement
that many people seem to race too at amazing speeds. I did,
however, realize I was going to hit another 1k milestone and
grabbed a cache and set out to place a commemorative cache at the
spot where the odometer rolled to 1000.0
The milestone was hitting 1000 miles on my current bicycle
odometer. This odometer was actually given to me after I started
caching, and it has served me very well. The vast majority of
caches I've found in Davis were logged in these 1000 miles, and
nearly all of the caches I've placed were planned and placed while
riding around on my bike.
So, come out to the spot I rolled my numbers to mostly zeros and
find the cache. Bonus points if you achieve a personal milestone of
any kind while finding it, geocaching related or not.
In order to avoid plant thrashing: the cache is just behind
the base of a vine.
2005/11 Update: Sadly the first version of this cache, which was
much more interesting, disappeared almost immediately. This is now
a fairly boring micro.
