Geocache Description:

Ample parking is available at N42 30.875, W071 16.545. Paul thinks this cache should be listed as a 2 Terrain; Lynn thinks it should be a 2.5 Terrain. But they both agree that the Difficulty rating should be a one. You’ll need agility to clamber over rock paths at either end of the conservation trail. You’ll need balance to brave the many plank bridges. But, other than those deterrents, it is a lovely walk in a pristine area. No poison ivy at the cache, but many mosquitoes in season. Go in when the weather’s been dry or wear boots, as there are a number of low-lying wet areas.

This cache is placed off path a bit. Based on some of the comments, it seems the cache is a bit north of GZ.

The conservation land is off a bike path which was the site of the ill-fated Bedford-Billerica Railroad. The BB railroad was the first 2-foot narrow-gauge railway in the U.S. It opened in 1878 and lasted for less than one year before it went bankrupt. The two, nearly identical, engines which serviced the tract were The Ariel and The Puck. After the bankruptcy the developer, George Mansfield, disassembled the entire railway and moved it and the engines to the Sandy River Railway in Maine.
