All Geocachers are invited to join Scooby Doo and the rest of "Mystery, Inc." for the premier Red Ochre Caching event of the year on the Long Weekend, 10th and 11th of June 2006. This 24 Hour cache event is designed as a family friendly, socially competitive caching weekend in and around the Dubbo area.

The concept (in short)

Hundreds of Scooby Snacks will be ‘hidden’ in and around Dubbo.

You will spend the 24 hours finding as many of these Scooby Snacks and Caches as you can. BUT with only mystery (unknown) caches counting for additional Scooby Snack points it will be strategy not speed that wins the day. There will also be a few special caches also worth Scooby Snack points and lots of socialising time.

All Mystery Caches within 100 Km will be given a Scooby Snack value. The relative value of each cache will be advised before the event. The value of each will be relative to the difficulty of the cache.

There will also be three special caches at the Beginning, Middle and End of the event.
The final cache will have a staggered start with starting order based on value of Scooby Snacks collected - Prize for FTF, STF, etc on this cache only.

‘Set caches':

"let's split up, gang..."

A Special one time only Cache to get the event started. This cache will hold the location info for the Scooby Snacks.

"jeepers!", "jinkies!” and "zoinks!"

Special Bronze Night Cache only available from sunset to sunrise during the event.

“Scooby Doo, Where are you”

‘The Final Mystery’ to determine the Winners

Other info:

"“Real Scooby Snacks" and the “Scooby Shack”

This is a totally free event and you are free to make your own arrangements for both food and accommodation but with the support of the local troop we are pleased to be able to offer the following at the Scooby Shack (1st Dubbo Scout Hall in Talbragar Street.)

Accommodation
The Scooby Shack is in the town centre S 32° 14.792 E 148° 36.792. It has showers, toilets, a large kitchen, hall space, separate room with floor sleeping space, and a tenting / camp trailer space. We will also be providing internal and external fire, 24 hour hot plate and urn.
There is Plenty of space for camping and camp trailers at the Scooby Shack. $5 per person per night and is available for the whole long weekend (Fri – Mon) if people choose to come early and/or stay long.

Food
On offer will be soup, sausage sandwiches with onion, bacon and egg rolls, hot drinks aand cold drinks. Getting food from here is a great (cheaper and easier) alternative to ‘Greasy Joes’.

Feel free to make your own arrangements there is no expectation that you will make use of these offers but they are being made to allow you to focus on the geocaches and keep the event accessible to all.

"I'd've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids and your dog,"

Don’t let the fun stop after the main event, tell your story on the Sunday night at the Mysterious After Party
this event after the event will be very relaxed to help your recovery before the drive home on Monday.
