Geocache Description:

This is a log only micro at the London Cemetery. Congratulations to HugoNaDie (& his wife) for this FTF!

The Old Wire Road was a military road. Completed n 1823, this road ran from Memphis, through Little Rock, and ended in Fort Smith. On it, were stage coach runs and the transportation of troops/supplies for Ft. Smith & Ft. Gibson. Later, it was used by thousands of Cherokees as they traveled west on their forced migration or "Trail of Tears". Along the way, many succumbed to disease or illness, and were buried here at what is now "London Cemetery". Although there is no record of the first burial in the cemetery, the oldest grave is dated 1884.

That said, this is a cemetery cache and you will not find the cache on or near any grave. Please respect those who "live" here. Bring your own writing tool & happy hunting!
