While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Where to find:
There is a parking lot by Rekustad skole. This is a great opportunity to bring along your bike, your dogs or your children. The paths are broad and gravelled.



English:
This is the third cache in a series of six on a roundtrip in Fredrikstadmarka.
You will here find the ruins of an old cottage farm where people lived for four generations. The farm was left when the water-reservoar Borredalsdammen was built 1912-1914.
To find the coordinates for Hattehulene-The treasure of the Hatten caves,you'll need to note the number of buildings on the information-board.

Dette er den tredje cachen i en serie på seks i en rundtur i Fredrikstadmarka. Her finnes spor etter en gammel husmannsplass, hvor første beboer var dragon Erik Hansen, som slo seg ned i 1776. Plassen gikk i arv fire generasjoner videre, slik at Eriks oldebarn, Gunder Kiøstolfsen , f. 1829, ble den siste plassmannen på Borgli. Hans datter, Johanne, som ble enke i 1898, flyttet hit med sine to barn, og bodde her sammen med sin far til han døde i 1917. Hun måtte da flytte på grunn av at Borredalsdammen ble bygget i årene 1912-1914. Noen år etterpå ble husene flyttet. Det finnes i dag spor etter våningshuset som lå ovenfor nåværende vei. Nedenfor veien lå uthuset. Du trenger å notere deg antallet bygninger på bildet på informasjonstavla dersom du skal finne Hattehulene-The treasure of the Hatten caves.
