This is the first of two related caches, the other being 'Over The Edge', placed along a favourite Cotswold walk set in the upper part of the River Frome. In just a 2.5 mile circular walk, the combined route includes mature dense woodland and tranquil valleys. Although the river is small here, its importance increased downstream where it once powered mills of the Stroud cloth industry.
Although both caches can be searched for independently, the combined walk is recommended.
This peaceful area is worth visiting at any time of the year, though the ground is quite steep in places and some parts can be slippery during the winter. Bring some coffee and sandwiches and enjoy the solitude.
The recommended parking is at the small village hall at N 51.45.318 W 002.4.858, then take the low road heading east towards the church and through the church grounds.
Having found the cache, head towards the 'Bridle Way' coordinates given in 'Over The Edge' for the next cache.
