THE DATE OF THE MEET HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 12/10/5. The event
will start at 10 AM and run til lunch. You can come a little
earlier and stay later. I will be there around 9.
In keeping with the nature of the theme, please bring a $8-10
wrapped gift to trade. . Kids should bring a $4-5 gift to trade
with other kids. I got an idea during the Fabulous Five Event to
see just how well you can use your GPS. I will have a gift for the
winner of the contest. Door prizes? I'm glad you asked. I'm working
on that issue. Any offers? There should be the requiste one or two
event caches so you don't go away empty handed. Restrooms are
almost non-existent so try to plan ahead. Plenty of woods around
the area. (We are working on this problem. But not sure it will be
ready by the event).12/9/5 PROBLEM SOLVED. WE BUILT AN
OUTHOUSE.
Please let me know what food you will be bringing so I can list
it on bottom of the page.
.
Travel Bugs, donations, and whatever you want to help with will
be greatly appreciated.
The train rides will be as available all during the day.
Plan on a restfull day of lounging, eating and riding the 1 1/2
mile long miniature railroad, and of course talking about
Geocaching. Kids of all ages are welcome to attend and ride the
trains.Talk to past attendees to hear what you missed.
Due to past issues with pets, I have been asked to let
everyone know that NO PETS will be allowed. Not even if kept in
cages. It is a requirement to allow us to be here. I'm sorry if
this creates a problem for anyone. But you can still bring spouses,
friends and kids.
For your comfort please bring chairs. Ground space will be
provided for those that forget them.
Many types of birds inhabit the surrounding area. A Barred Owl,
at times, has landed within 20 ft of us while we are doing
maintenance on the track. Sandhill Cranes that we were able to get
very near, Kites, Hawks and Eagles are just a few that can be seen
here. Snakes, fireants and the occasional mosquito will be provided
at no extra charge.
Bower Lake is on the north and east side of the property if you
have a canoe or kayak. Just a word of caution, the lake has some
resident alligators. One is 10+ feet.
Leeward Air Ranch is nearby and we get the occasional planes
that check out our event. Last year we had a helicopter drop-in for
a visit.
Email me if you want to campout the night before the event. No
camping at the event site. There is another place available for
those that showup Friday evening. Anyone else in the area can also
come, sit, chat and enjoy the bonfire. Bring munchies.
