INDIANA
SPIRIT QUEST #339
”Lost and
Founders"
Welcome to
Founder's Cemetery in Wanamaker, Marion County. This cemetery was
established in 1827. In July of 1999 a drunken man on his way home
from a pub knocked over 98 of the stones here. The community came
together to work to repair the damage. Uprighting the cemetery sign
in the front and standing stones that were lying on the ground.
Today this cemetery is in good shape, with only a few broken
stones

Reuben Adams, the oldest stone I saw in this cemetery is
interred along with William and Mary Adams in a small fenced in
area. All three stones are in excellent condition.
John Haas, one of two Civil War veterans in this
cemetery.
Even though this stone is broken, it is still readable and is
one of the oldest stones in this cemetery.
