Geocache Description:

Seek a Camo Coffee Jar in Saude Park. This cache was initially placed with with small trade items including: Spiderman cards, puzzle, hot wheels, flashlights a Jr. Deputy Badge and more.

In 1854, a Norwegian settlement had been established in Utica Township, Chickasaw County, at what was then known as the Little Turkey River Settlement, and is now Saude. They came to this area in ox-drawn prairie schooners. Most of the settlers were born in Telemarken, Norway. The first church service was conducted in 1855. A post office functioned from 1881-1914. Near by you can find birth place of Norman Ernest Borlaug the 1970 Nobel Peace Prize winner.
