Above coordinates are to the cul-de-sac parking area at the end of World's Edge Road. Finding it is part of the adventure as GPSs never seem to get it right. It CAN be reached without driving on dirt roads. The coordinates are to a small intersection where the pavement ends.
---DUE TO WORLD'S EDGE BECOMING PART OF THE STATE PARK, THIS WILL FOREVER REMAIN A VIRTUAL CACHE---
Once parked, the coordinates for the view itself are: N 35 23.637' N 082 15.513' It's a straight walk down the dirt road to the view. When you get to the fork at the end, the path on the right is usually the least muddy. The center one tends to flood. The path on the left leads to some pretty fun hiking, and expect more as the Park Rangers clean up these trails and turn this into a spectacular hiking location.
This land is now owned by Chimney Rock State Park! With the help of the Park Rangers, this breathtaking view will be preserved and cleaned up for future generations to enjoy. For now, the land is still open to the public for free. My family owned the neighboring property for thirty years and would very much appreciate that you be respectful to the mountain. We used to ask people to pick up any litter they found, but the Park Rangers do an amazing job keeping it clean now.
NOTE: Thank you to the countless geocachers over the years who've chipped in to remove trash. The viewpoint used to be regularly ravaged by drunks and hooligans, now it's spotless! Oh yeah... BRING YOUR CAMERA!!! The view on a clear day is impossible to describe!
