This is a fun one for the kids. Smokey Bear just celebrated his 61st birthday! Help him celebrate by spreading the message, Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires…be careful and mindful. Things are dry and the Santa Anas are coming!
This is located up the trailhead at Steven’s Park. About halfway to the cache you’ll find a rock that the Indians used to grind their acorns. How many grinding holes are in the rock?
You’ll find all kinds of Smokey paraphernalia in this one, including activity and coloring books, Smokey comic books, temp tattoos, magnets, pencils, nature stickers and more! This is an easy hike. Pack a picnic lunch if you’d like cuz when you get near the cache there’s a wonderful spot with large boulders next to the creek to sit and relax. The cache isn’t far from that.
The container is tall, rectangular and has a green top. Be sure to camouflage it again when you’re done. This is a popular destination so watch for muggles! Please leave the pens for the log. This is a nature themed cache, but feel free to have fun!
