Geocache Description:

Between a small and regular cache – just big enough for one or two TBs. Used to be located on the grounds of the March Air Force Museum. Moved in June 2010 to new location north of and near March Field.

The Cache used to be located within a controlled area of the March Air Force Museum, consisting of an outdoor courtyard with several interesting historical items, statues, and monuments. Due to problems with the cache going missing repeatedly, the cache has been moved to a new location a few miles away and to the north of March Field.

The new location is off of Frederick Street. Off street parking is available on Resource Drive. Very easy to access.

We still want to promote the cool museum that inspired this cache originally. The museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays), except for Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, and Easter. Parking is free. If you have some time, make sure to visit the museum! I had the fortune to visit the museum with my father, who served in the Air Force as a mechanic in the 60’s and worked on some of the aircraft on display. Visitors are allowed to walk amongst the several aircraft stored on the outdoor grounds of the museum. There are also several exhibits at the museum that are full of rich history of our Nation’s progress and local development. I had no idea that the museum I had passed so many times on the 215 freeway had so many treasures inside! To enter the museum, admission prices are: $8 for adults, $5 for children (5-11), and kids under 5 are free. For more information on the museum, please visit: (visit link)

This is our first cache, inspired by Sean the Jetfighter TB. Upon discovering him, I felt that a cache near the Air Force museum would be the perfect place to send him on his journey, but only microcaches were available in the area. Sean has a rich history, much like the AF museum and I wish him luck in his future travels! The cache was started with an Air Force theme and contains the following:

*Sean the Jetfighter TB
*A-4 Skyhawk small airplane
*F-15 Eagle small airplane
*beach bum bean
*warrior bean

Thanks to the March Air Force Museum for allowing the geocache to be placed on their grounds for a few years. And thanks to all those that serve – remember to please take the time to reflect what sacrifices our men and women of the Armed Forces have made for our freedom as you visit this cache.
